Effect of Nilam Cyclone on K.J.Puram

Cyclone Nilam effects worse than other cyclones to the village K.J. Puram. It destroyed entire paddy field and made huge losses to K.J. Puram farmers. K.J. Puram is the village which is in the middle of 100's of acres agriculture land. Agriculture is the 70 % of income source for K.J. Puram villagers. But these kind of unexpected environmental changes pouring water on dreams of K.J. Puram villagers.

During the cyclone people in K.J. Puram faced lot of problems.

House Arrest: People are not even able to come out of the home due to heavy rain fall. Generally people from K.J. Puram are very hard workers. Nobody likes to sit idle without doing any work. People always try to be busy by doing something. If any one sits idle they will get lot of negative comments from their parents or from relatives or from neighbors. Because of this cyclone so many people wasted their valuable time and as well as they lost their crop.

Long Power Cuts: During the cyclone there was around 48 hours power cut. They completely disconnected from the outside world. There is no digital(Media) communication to know what is happening in their surroundings. Mobile communication with known people was little bit helpful to tell what is happening in other districts and other villages and how long the cyclone will continue.

Overall this Nilam cyclone shown huge negative impact on K.J. Puram village and people from K.J. Puram praying to the god not to come again this kind worst situation to our village.

Visakha Express (On route to Bhubhaneswar) - departs daily from Secunderabad Station at 5PM, arrives the following morning in Visakhapatnam at 7AM. This train runs via Nadikudi, Guntur, Vijayawada and Bhimavaram Town.

Falaknuma express(On route to Howrah) - departs daily from Secunderabad Station at 4PM, arrives the following morning in Visakhapatnam at 3:30AM. Faster than the Godavari express. Convenient.

Visakhapatnam is connected to Chennai and Calcutta via Bhubaneswar and Vijayawada by National Highway 5 (dual-carriageway, 120 km/h).

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Travel Corporation (APSRTC) runs buses from almost every city and town to Vizag, along with some private operators, who run buses from a few of the major cities. Please check with APSRTC for timings. There is also a new Garuda fleet of bus service (Volvo) to Vizag from Chennai, Bangalore, Vijayawada and Hyderabad which is very comfortable and happy going. This is the best way to do it if you want to travel by bus. APSRTC has several other bus services which have varied luxury levels and transit speeds. You might want to check the APSRTC at least 3 days in advance to be sure you have a reservation.

Simhachalam temple is located within the city limit but at a corner of Visakhapatnam. It is one hour drive from city centers of Vizag. Temple is located at the top of a hill and wide road is there for driving up to the temple. Bus service is available from foot of the hill to the temple premises. Araku valley is a famous hill station of AP. It is located at a distance of 120 KM from Visakhapatnam ( Vizag )is famous for its scenic beauty. Located on the eastern ghats , it has valley, water falls and streams flowing by the side of the train track and roads . The journey to Araku Valley is the most enjoying as the rail passes through tunnels, hill sides and streams. . It is better to go to Araku by train and return by road.
